• Do an online search for “volunteer opportunities near me” — you may be surprised at how many things pop up.
• Take a look at the list of organizations on this site and see if they have a chapter in your area.
• Check out your local library bulletin board and/or ask the librarians about local groups doing good things.
• Check out bulletin boards of local churches, synagogues, and mosques, which often have information about all kinds of worthy activities (secular as well as religious).
• Check out other community bulletin boards (supermarkets, town offices, city hall)
•Convene a meeting: find a neutral spot (e.g., cafe, library meeting room, apartment building common area) and put up flyers ion library nviting people to meet and discuss projects and issues.
